Geppetto & The Whales

Four years after their debut ‘Heads of Woe’, Geppetto & Co. travelled from Antwerp to Wisconsin, USA to record their next album ‘Passages’. Under the wings of the great Brian Joseph, the producer of Bon Iver and Sufjan Stevens. The album only drops early October by [PIAS].

The very first full album by Geppetto & the Whales came out early 2014. This beautifully crafted debut, from this Belgian indie band, sounds mature and young at the same time. It blends beautiful little melodies with overwhelming soundscapes. The first result is the single 1814 a dark but beautiful love song based on a truly fascinating war story.

The album comes 2 years after they’ve made it to the finals of Humo’s Rock Rally* in 2012 and 1.5 years after the release of the EP People Of Galicove. That EP contains excellent singles such as Juno (daytime airplay on two national radio stations ‘Studio Brussel’ & ‘Radio1’ + 6th place in ‘ De Afrekening’ + 3rd place of Radio 1’s VOX) and Duquesne’s Horse (14 weeks in ‘De Afrekening’), which was very well received by both press and public. Both stations played the track in heavy rotation. Their EP received all but raving reviews & even resulted in some magazine covers.

Last winter the band recorded their new album ‘Passage’s in Wisconsin, USA with producer Brian Joseph (Bon Iver, Local Natives…). The new album has just been released by [PIAS].
