Yann Gaudeuille makes modern soul and funk rooted in the complexities of being human. Growing up in Dendermonde, music became both an escape and, eventually, a language through which he could make sense of the world around him. A songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist, Yann spent years working behind the scenes, quietly helping shape the sound of other artists. His close collaboration with Coely has made him an integral part of her musical world, both in the studio and on stage, while he also features on DVTCH NORRIS’ cult classic “Blessed”.
Yann’s music is warm and organic, but there’s nothing particularly polished about the emotions underneath it. Love and desire, intimacy and distance, the longing to belong and the instinct to disappear, his songs sit comfortably in the mess. His voice can go from intimate to absolutely massive without ever feeling like it’s trying too hard.
