Jazz Brak has been a part of Brussels hip-hop group STIKSTOF right from the start. Together with Zwangere Guy, Astrofisiks and DJ Vega, he has been steadily paving his way up since 2010.
Last year the Brussels native released BRAK: a personal debut on which he put into words his surroundings and love for his family. Since then, things have shifted into overdrive. After a series of 30 or so live shows all over the country, Jazz Brak treated us to a dark new single, SAL TYP, about big dreams and the realities of Brussels.
Second album AUTOFOCUS will be out on October 10. On March 26nd, he will come get down to brass tacks with it, in De Vooruit.
Support: Hardere Aanpak
Jazz Brak has been part of the Brussels hip-hop group STIKSTOF since the beginning. Together with Zwangere Guy, Astrofisiks, and DJ Vega, they have been steadily paving the way at all kinds of festivals and concerts with classics and bangers since 2010.
As a Brussels native, Jasper De Ridder aka Jazz Brak is now showing an insight into his personal life and looking for the right words to describe his love-hate relationship with the capital.
Hardere Aanpak is a Ghent Hip Hop platform curated by J9RR9. What started in 2019 as a jam-packed try-out party in a far too small bleak room, has since grown into a recurring concept that consistently draws full houses. In the meantime, more than 50 artists have crossed the stage; from underground rappers to established names within the Flemish scene.
In August 2024, Hardere Aanpak joined forces with KAPOW (a Ghent cultural organization). This resulted in the very first Hardere Aanpak Mixtape. Together with Krapuul, J9RR9 invited ten rappers from all over Flanders to enter the studio together. There are 4 names from Ghent, and 4 from outside of Ghent on the mixtape. “It remains a homegrown project, but we wanted to involve several rappers and cities. Each rapper brought his best bars and a beat from a specific producer so that also increases the number of talent that collaborated on the tape.”
Hardere Aanpak continues to professionalize and expand its reach. Currently, Hardere Aanpak is engaged in organizing mainly release parties. In the future, the plan is to release even more music under the Hardere Aanpak banner in order to grow as a platform and expand to other cities as well. There will be more Hardere Aanpak Mixtapes released in the future, that's for sure.
