Abel Ghekiere is a Belgian multi-instrumentalist with a sound that stems from minimalist jazz, traditional folk and field recordings. His debut album - Voor Het Verdwijnt, En Daarna - sounded the traces of grief and loss, an album that sways and comforts. In his new music, he plays with more openness, gentleness and euphoria. The inspiration for the intuitive, stripped-down form of songwriting comes from Nils Økland, Sufjan Stevens and Caroline. Abel is a guitarist by training but takes clarinet and banjo into the studio and onto the stage.
