Arend Delabie is a 21-year-old bedroom producer/songwriter from Kortrijk, Belgium, ready to open the door to a promising career with the release of his debut single at the end of the year. Delabie started making music in his bedroom with just a laptop, basic instruments and a nose for clever melodies. He just knows – or rather, fééls - how to write a good song, which also came to the attention of Mayway Records. Signing this young talent, they gave him the time to develop and explore his own sound, a DIY indie feel showing hints of Damon Albarn solo or Canadian musician Homeshake.
Supporting acts like The Haunted Youth, Marble Sounds, Ão and Mooneye, he’s already shown he has what it takes to impress on stage. And as this year’s ‘Lotto Wild Talent’ for music venue and concert organizer Wilde Westen in his hometown Kortrijk, he is artist in residence, getting the support he needs working on his first release. The residency will be concluded with a headline show on November 22, around which time his debut single will be released.
